Mia Yoon

Artist Bio

“The most important elements of my work are incorporating line and geometry, and manipulating the sense of light with colors to the point of creating an optical sensation or illusion. In my recent work I started to experiment with a roller and spray technique on a Mylar surface to enhance these key elements.

In all of my installations I play with the idea of our perception of space. I try to create a sense of vibration by using colors and subtle changes to create attraction and repellency. It excites me to work and to conceptualize the space, and to transform it beyond its limitations.”
