Kathleen Rieder

Artist Bio

Kathleen Rieder, Adjunct Associate Professor at The NCSU College of Design in the Department of Art& Design ,has taught a wide variety of subjects including drawing, painting, color theory, mixed media,2D Design and 3D Design, and Design Fundamentals.

She has taught a seminar in Contemporary Issues in Art and Design for juniors majoring in Art and Design for the past 12years.

In addition to her teaching ,she has actively exhibited her art.  She has been selected three times to exhibit in the NC Artists Exhibition at the NC Museum of Art.  In the last ten years she has exhibited at the Hanes Art Center at UNC Chapel Hill; the Weatherspoon Art Museum at UNC Greensboro; Meredith College; NCSU College of Design and the Louise Wells Cameron Museum in Wilmington, NC.

Kathleen remains committed to participation in NCSU College of Design’s International programs.

She has served as  faculty  in the Art and Design Department  of NCSU in Ghana,West Africa in 1999 and returned the of summer 2007.

Summer 2005 she taught a painting studio at the NCSU College of Design’s Prague Institute in the Czech Republic.
