As a self-taught artist born and raised in Asia to Americans, Linda Ruth Dickinson’s art seeks a universal and transcendent understanding.

Translating her vision primarily through paint on panel or canvas, Dickinson attempts a charting of hope within various forms —whether in an exploration displayed by abstract imagery or that reminiscent of a familiar terrestrial perspective.

Linda states, “…The work is more about the feelings transmitted – as a way of describing the existence or truth of a subject. The goal is to create art that expresses what is essential and common to all human experience…. to feel balanced with the possession of a sense of equilibrium and that the viewer will come away intrigued and or refreshed, and that those responses lead them to a sense of renewal.”

Dickinson’s exhibitions include those sponsored by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Springfield Art Museum MO, the Graham Center Museum IL, the Bade Museum CA, the Knoxville Museum of Art TN, the David Adler Cultural Center IL, North Park University IL, Northwestern University IL, Sawtooth Center NC, Greenhill Center NC, Raleigh’s Artspace and Meredith College among others. Dickinson’s work has been featured in print and online and was a subject of Chicago’s Sacred Treasures, a PBS documentary on sacred art.

Her work is found in numerous private and public collections such as:  Biogen, Biologics, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Capital Broadcasting, Christ Church Lake Forest IL, College of Lake County IL, Credit Suisse, GSK, Genworth Financial, Grubb Ventures, Intersouth Partners, DLA Piper, SAS, Duke Energy, Fidelity Investments, Wells Fargo, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman, Kilpatrick Townsend, LORD Co., Deere Co., Shanahan McDougal, Shirley & Adams, Tri Properties, Umstead Hotel, Westin Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, Marriott Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, IQVIA, UNC/Rex Hospitals, and Womble Bond Dickinson.
